Users can easily extend the range of their wireless network without the need for any additional cables by placing the device within the range of an existing wireless network. Simply press the WPS button on the router and then the Range Extender button on the booster (in any order). The single Ethernet port of the TL-WA850RE allows the device to be used as a network adapter, enabling wired network devices such as Blu-ray players, game consoles, and digital TV set-top boxes to connect to the wireless network. At the same time, the device boosts the signal of the wireless network. The booster is equipped with 5 LEDs that indicate the strength of the received wireless signal, which helps determine the appropriate location to place the device for maximum range and wireless connection performance. For optimal operation, it is recommended to place the booster where at least 3 blue LEDs are lit.
