Patchwork is a two-player puzzle game in which we choose scraps of materials from the available pool, taking into account the cost of each of them in buttons and time. With the help of the acquired elements, we try to take a place on our boards as effectively as possible.
What does it involve?

- Before the game begins, we place the tiles in a circle around the board, and then place a neutral pawn between them. Its location indicates which fragments of materials we can currently get - the first 3 before the pawn are available. Each time a player takes a tile out of the pot, they place a pawn in its place, thereby designating a new available pot.
- Each of the fabric scraps has a cost expressed in buttons and time for sewing. This means that in order to choose it, we have to pay in both forms.
- Buttons are a classic currency: we need to have a certain number of them in our resources, which we will spend to obtain a tile. The heart of the game, however, is the time board, located in the middle. Each time we select a piece of fabric, we move the number of squares indicated on it. 
- When playing Patchwork, we don't always play turns one after the other. The active player is always the person whose pawn is behind on the time track. It performs its actions until it passes the opponent's pawn. This is an important strategic element, sometimes it does not pay to go too far!
- Immediately place the acquired tiles on your quilt board. We sew them in permanently, so once placed, they cannot change their position. Our goal is to fill the board as efficiently as possible - at the end of the game we will receive negative points for each field not covered with material.

- To play Patchwork, we only need to learn a few simple rules of moving around the board and getting buttons - the rest of the game is based on skillful planning and making the right decisions.
- This is an example of an ideal two-player game, in which we have a lot of control over the opponent's actions. Many times we will be faced with the choice of whether it is worth taking a slightly less fitting element just so that the other player does not get it.
- The game is an interesting, creative challenge and allows you to practice spatial analysis. Trying to fill the board can be difficult, especially on the first attempts, but with time we will plan our moves better and better!
