Azulejos - originally these were white and blue ceramic tiles, brought to Europe by the Moors. They gained fame and popularity in Portugal after the visit of King Manuel I to southern Spain. The king was fascinated by the stunning beauty of the Moorish decorations of the palace in Alhambra and, impressed by them, immediately had his palace in Portugal decorated with similar tiles.
After a huge worldwide success (over 2 million copies sold), the puzzle game about arranging mosaics returns in a completely new version! The Azul Mini is a compact version fully adapted to take with you on a trip. All elements from the classic edition have been reduced in size to make them more handy. In addition, in the box you will find practical overlays on the boards to prevent the tiles from moving, as well as a linen bag in which you can pack all the elements. So you can play literally anywhere!
What does it involve?
During the game, you and your friends play the role of artists who, commissioned by the king, arrange beautiful, intricate mosaics on the walls of the palace in Évora. Each of you will create your own piece of the puzzle using pieces available from common suppliers. In each round, participants choose tiles and then arrange them in their storages. The arrangement of the tiles is completely random, so each game is completely different.
When everyone has chosen their tiles, the players simultaneously move them to the wall of the palace in a strictly defined way. After laying the tiles on the wall, the points are counted and then the next round begins. In this way, we have constant control over where we are in the race for victory and what strategy the opponents adopt.
The game ends after the mosaic laying phase is over, in which one of the participants has completed a horizontal row of 5 tiles on their wall. The winner will be the person who manages to fill the available space as efficiently as possible. To do this, you must not only choose your tiles strategically, but also plan your next moves accurately.
