Golden Egyptian canopy vessel per piece - description
Each golden Egyptian canopy vessel is made of resin and was designed in gold, red and blue, the typical Egyptian colors. Canopic vessels were used for mummification. The removed body parts were cleaned and mummified and then placed in 4 canopy vessels. Each canopy vessel has a lid with the head of a god. Imsety (head of a male god) guarded the liver. Qebehsenuef, (head of a falcon god) held the intestines. Hapy (head of a baboon god) watched over lungs and Duamutef (head of a jackal god) guarded the stomach. The heart remained in the body because it was believed to be important for the ceremony in the afterlife.Each vessel has a unit price, but can only be ordered in a set of 4 (one of each vessel). The jar is packed in a box of 4, one per design. Please note that if inventory is low, not all designs may be available. Height 12cm
