If you see them, watch your goods, because they will definitely try to steal them from you. They've been around forever, it's time for them to come out of the shadows and make a name for themselves among the other kingdoms of the north - lead the Barbarian clans to glory!
Settlers: Realms of the North - Barbarian Hordes is an expansion that will allow you to play as the leaders of two clans belonging to the new Barbarian faction! This is the second independent expansion to The Kingdoms of the North by Joanna Kijanka, after The Banners of Rome, and another, after the Islands of Japan, which she co-created with Ignacy Trzewiczek. Joanna takes you into the world of uncouth Barbarians, who are governed by their own laws, whether someone likes it or not. The Barbarian Hordes are compatible with previous expansions to the Northern Realms: details on how each card from the expansions work together can be found in the manual.
In the box you will find two decks of Barbarian clans: Boudica and Urvart, with 33 cards each. There are also additional island cards, ship tokens for both clans and rafts (only for Boudica), and ambush tokens for Urvart.
Clan of Urvart
Urvart sent his spies to the four corners of the world. Why, you ask? These cunning Barbarians are in every nook and cranny of our villages, trying to steal valuable recipes, whether for our famous Ale or the delicious ice cream cones of our Inuit neighbors... Not only do they steal our knowledge, but they also share it with their entire clan, outrageous!
Clan Boudica
Boudica had a simple plan - to build as many boats as possible and then use them to collect everything she needed. She discovered that the seas were full of boats loaded with expensive raw materials, and in addition, without protection. Why bother planting vegetables when you can just grab them from the holds of nearby galleys? The only thing left for her to do was decide how many boats from her fleet to use to plunder defenseless galleys and how many to plunder the prosperous islands.
