Aljibes 2018 – Crianza Signature Red Wine
The Aljibes 2018 is a signature red wine made at the Finca Los Aljibes, located in Chinchilla de Montearagón (Albacete), at an altitude of almost 1,000 metres. This blend combines 45% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Cabernet Franc, from vineyards grown in limestone soils with a sandy texture and low organic content.
The grapes are harvested by hand in 7-kilo boxes and undergo rigorous selection. After a cold maceration at 5ºC, alcoholic fermentation is carried out in stainless steel tanks with temperature control, followed by malolactic fermentation in 10,000-litre French oak vats. The wine is aged for 10 months in French and American oak barrels, and then 3 months in French oak vats.
This process results in a wine with an intense and bright cherry colour, with aromas of red fruit jams, spices such as black pepper and aromatic herbs. On the palate, it has ripe tannins, dark chocolate sensations, good acidity and a tasty and complex profile.
